Gavin Kempe

Gavin Kempe leads the Boise Timbers ECNL Boys Program, directing player development and competitive performance for athletes from U13 through U19. With nearly two decades of coaching experience within the organization, Gavin has played a key role in shaping the club’s identity, standards, and pathway to higher levels of the game.

Since beginning his coaching career in 2008 with Boise Capitals Soccer Club, Gavin has remained a central figure through the club’s evolution into FC Nova and now Boise Timbers Thorns. He has served in leadership roles within the IYSA Olympic Development Program (ODP) and as a Girls Varsity High School Head Coach, consistently developing players who compete at the highest levels of youth soccer.

A Boise native, Gavin understands the local soccer landscape firsthand. He played for Boise Capitals from U11 through U18 before continuing his collegiate career at Walla Walla Community College and Truman State University. His playing background, combined with his USSF “A” License, allows him to provide players with a clear, structured pathway for long-term development and college recruitment.

Gavin and his wife of 15 years have three children, two of whom play within the club—reflecting his deep personal investment in the Boise Timbers community.
